Hear from Zain Amjid, Racing Pride member and graduate environmental scientist researching vehicles' non-exhaust emissions.

Racing Pride holds deep significance for me in two powerful ways. First, as a gay Pakistani man, it has transformed my personal life. It’s given me the freedom to make healthier choices, embrace my hobbies, and live authentically—the way I always should have. Second, Racing Pride boldly stands out, and that’s intentional. It’s paving the way for a more inclusive future in motorsport and automotive engineering. In a field where I can be placed in any role, I no longer feel the need to explain my background or orientation—because, honestly, that’s exhausting. At the end of the day, I’m here because I love cars and science, and that’s what matters most to me.

One of the most powerful ways to find your place in motorsport is to start by finding your people: the ones you identify with and have things in common with, who can help support and guide you by sharing the benefit of their experiences. Racing Pride has a hugely diverse group of Ambassadors, Community Champions, and Members in all roles in the sport: from European and British champion drivers in everything from karts to single seaters, GT cars, and prototypes; to marshals and officials; media personnel; communications directors; and Formula One engineers. Our online and in-person safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and allies are a great way to get to know people in an informal, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere and, thanks to our partnerships, including with multiple Formula One teams, we are able to give access to unique experiences for our community.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Inclusion Hub, developed by Motorsport UK and Mission 44, simplifies access to motorsport opportunities for young people, educators, and underrepresented groups. It offers clear pathways into the sport through volunteering, education, career resources, and community-building opportunities.

The Inclusion Hub is available to anyone looking to find opportunities in motorsport. However, the platform is aimed at young people that are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).

The Inclusion Hub will help Motorsport UK and its partners deliver on their mission to make motorsport more inclusive, diverse, and accessible. By providing a comprehensive digital hub, we can ensure that young people, regardless of background, have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive in motorsport.

Use the platform’s search and filter tools to explore opportunities based on location, interest, or type (e.g., clubs, volunteering, jobs, or education programmes).

The platform highlights job boards, career guides, webinars, tips, and scholarships. You can also connect with industry leaders and organisations to build your network. Additionally, the platform features extracurricular programmes that can help you build valuable skills and enhance your CV—qualities that employers in the motorsport industry highly value. These programmes include volunteering, club participation, and hands-on experience through STEM-related initiatives, all designed to give you a competitive edge in your career development.

The hub is regularly updated with new opportunities, resources, and success stories to ensure users have the latest information available.
