Who are we?

Lemmiout delivers hands-on STEM-based activities designed to engage young people through engineering, creativity, and teamwork. Founded in 2020 by an outdoor activity instructor who recognised how few people understood how cars work, Lemmiout aims to make engineering accessible, practical, and fun. From schools and youth groups to universities and corporate clients, Lemmiout brings engaging design-and-build experiences of cars to learners of all ages.

What do we do?

Lemmiout runs creative, curriculum-aligned workshops and challenges that use tools, materials, and engineering principles to build real vehicles, test scientific ideas, and explore career-related skills. All equipment is provided and taken away after the session, making it easy for schools and organisations to get involved.

Track Car Project (Ages 6+, 1 day)
In this full-day workshop, students design and build their own wooden gravity-powered cars using real tools such as drills, screwdrivers, glue guns and clamps. They race them on a 5-lane, 10–15m rubber track, learning about friction, aerodynamics, gravity, and mass. After the first races, they can modify their designs to improve performance. Each pupil keeps their car at the end.

Pedal Car Project (Ages 8+, 1–2 days)
This interactive workshop uses a reusable pedal car kit that individuals assemble, exploring steering, structural design, and aerodynamics. Teams take part in fun engineering-based challenges, such as blindfolded obstacle driving and water bucket balance races. This session is also used with older learners and businesses to develop teamwork, negotiation, and basic business planning skills.

Box Car Challenge (Ages 8–12, 1–3 day course)
Students assemble a push-kart chassis and design their own cardboard body shell based on any theme—such as F1 or historic cars. They then race their creations and receive certificates and medals. This project supports teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and hands-on learning. It can be adapted to suit themed weeks or extended STEM days.

STEAM Boats & Rocket Cannons (Ages 7–11)
These exciting mini engineering sessions allow students to build their own boats or rocket cannons. Boats are fitted with small engines and raced in a water tank, while rocket cannons demonstrate principles of propulsion and pressure. These activities are ideal for science days or as fun add-ons to other Lemmiout projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Inclusion Hub, developed by Motorsport UK and Mission 44, simplifies access to motorsport opportunities for young people, educators, and underrepresented groups. It offers clear pathways into the sport through volunteering, education, career resources, and community-building opportunities.

The Inclusion Hub is available to anyone looking to find opportunities in motorsport. However, the platform is aimed at young people that are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM).

The Inclusion Hub will help Motorsport UK and its partners deliver on their mission to make motorsport more inclusive, diverse, and accessible. By providing a comprehensive digital hub, we can ensure that young people, regardless of background, have the tools and opportunities they need to thrive in motorsport.

Use the platform’s search and filter tools to explore opportunities based on location, interest, or type (e.g., clubs, volunteering, jobs, or education programmes).

The platform highlights job boards, career guides, webinars, tips, and scholarships. You can also connect with industry leaders and organisations to build your network. Additionally, the platform features extracurricular programmes that can help you build valuable skills and enhance your CV—qualities that employers in the motorsport industry highly value. These programmes include volunteering, club participation, and hands-on experience through STEM-related initiatives, all designed to give you a competitive edge in your career development.

The hub is regularly updated with new opportunities, resources, and success stories to ensure users have the latest information available.
